2017 was a bumper year for these splendid little Agaricus. They were quite literally all over our yard so no need to travel.

DNA phylogenetics places them near Agaricus semotis as a smallish almond-smelling agaricus. These stain bright gold to orange on damage and smell potently of almonds / marzipan similarly to subrufescens.

The cap is pink and scaled, gills starting grey to white before turning chocolate brown very late.
